Advantages of Yarn :
A. Comfort
1. Humidity Transfer : Polyolefin (polypropylene) doesn’t absorb the water, it repels the water. It is the only synthetic yarn that shows this property. Humidity (sweat) gets out from fabric as steam. Fabric doesn’t stick
to the skin, it allows to breathe. Also it provides comfort ( sportswear )

2. Thermal Conductivity : Polyolefin yarn is a synthetic yarn that has the lowest thermal conductivity. It means that it conserves the heat for longer time.  (Ski cloth, under wear for army).

Polyolefin         ( PP )  : 6.00
Cotton                        : 17.5
It means that polyolefin conserves the heat approximately 3 times more.

3. Quick Drying : Drying time of polyolefin is very short. Because it doesn’t absorb the water. (Swimwear)
B. Performance
    1. Low Specific Gravity : Polyolefin yarn is a synthetic yarn that has the lowest specific gravity. It is %30
lighter than polyester and %20 lighter than polyamide. Polyolefin gives more volume and heat with less
        weight.
        Polyolefin          ( PP )   : 0.91
        Cotton                         : 1.54

It means that you can acquire the  same volume with %69 less yarn.

    2. Light Fastness : Polyolefin yarns are the yarns that have the highest light fastness.
Colors don’t lose their properties by sun, water, friction.

    3. Resistant to Smell : Bacterium can not grow in polyolefin.
Bacterium produced by sweating can not stay in the cloth.(Sportswear)

    4. Abrasion Resistance : Abrasion resistance of polyolefin yarns
are high. (Ski cloth)

    5. Resistant to Chemicals : Polyolefin yarns are  resistant to chemicals.
( Divingwear, swimwear). Chlorine can not damage  the fabric.

 Disadvantages of Yarn :

    A. Resistance to heat of polyolefin yarns are low. Temperature has to be maximum  80 °C for all finishing
        process. At 120
°C yarn becomes harder and  loses its shape.

    B. PP doesn’t like directly heat contact.  You have to iron at maximum 40 °C. You have to sell the yarn to
consumer with label that explaining this property. However there is no problem for finishing with steam
        iron.

    C. Polyolefin cannot be dyed with conventional methods after extruding . The problem is solved by a very
big range of our shade catalogue and option of making new colors.
